After hearing about why her tooth was broken, a kind dentist decided on an act of compassion and her reaction will warm your heart.

When Kyleigha came to a dentist appointment, the dentist asked her, “What happened to your tooth?” Her front took had been broken, and she mentioned that her abusive ex-boyfriend had decided to headbutt her in the middle of the night around two years ago.

Though her appointment was not concerning the broken tooth, Kenny Wilstead, owner of Marshall Family Dental, decided to fix Kyleigha’s tooth for free.

“I just felt like she’d been through enough and it was about time someone gave her a break in life,” Wilstead said.

“I am learning how to smile all over again. In every single picture, my mouth was closed. After [the dentist] fixed my tooth that day, he brought someone back I thought I lost … I came back to somebody I thought I lost a long time ago,” Kyleigha said.

“To have the constant reminder of something that you try to get over is very difficult, and finally with this pure-hearted gesture, I was able to move on from the incident,” Kyleigha said.

Survivors of domestic abuse never have it easy, as trauma, fears, and pains often can follow them around for the rest of their lives. The kindness shown to Kyleigha was a beautiful investment of love, and her new beautiful smile is the proof of how it made her feel.

Use your voice for kindness, your ears for compassion, your hands for charity, your mind for truth, your heart for love, and live each day with a smile.
