8th Grade ‘Loser’ Fails Every Subject Only To Invent Charlie Brown And Teach Them All A Lesson

This is the story of a little boy who was the perpetual “loser” and underachiever amongst his peers. The boy, who grew up in the 20s and 30s in St. Paul, Minneapolis, was no stranger to failure.

He failed every subject in eighth grade. In high school, he flunked every class from physics to algebra. He made it onto the golf team only to lose the one match that really mattered… and he lost the consolation match, too.

His classmates never paid much attention to him. He was always just… there. But the boy was okay with his mediocracy. In fact, he grew into it. What’s meant to be will be, he’d think to himself.

But there was one area in which he took pride: art. When it came to drawing, the boy was much more passionate.

In senior year of high school, he submitted his drawings to the yearbook. He was rejected, of course. Then, after graduation, he submitted his work to Walt Disney Studios. He was rejected there as well.

And so, he decided to tell his own life’s story through a brand new cartoon. The main character was a little boy named Charlie Brown who was the perpetual loser and underachiever. Just like him.
