It’s a common problem but not one people like to talk about. We all have hemorrhoids, they are just venous cushions around the anus. It’s actually good news that we have them, as without them the stool might start leaking out of the anus. But when they get irritated and inflamed they can cause no end of discomfort, with burning and itching among the most common complaints.

Many sufferers are too embarrassed to go to the doctor, but in some cases that isn’t really necessary. There are actually lots of things we keep around the house that can be used to relieve the nasty effects of inflamed hemorrhoids.

HERE ARE SOME HOME REMEDIES FOR THAT EMBARRASSING ITCH…

1. Aloe vera

Thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties, the aloe vera plant can relieve the pain and itch of hemorrhoids quickly and effectively. Simply spread some aloe vera gel on the affected area and the pain and swelling will soon be gone.


2. Apple Cider Vinegar

There are various natural substances that can be applied to the painful area to sooth and heal it. Try using apple cider vinegar (ACV) – the panacea of natural remedies. Simply soak a cotton ball and apply it to the anal area. This should help with inflammation and symptom relief. You can also try mixing ACV with honey as this combination can improve digestive health and prevent constipation.


3. Garlic

Put three garlic cloves and three bay leaves in a pot of boiling water. Let the it brew for at least 10 minutes and then take the pot off the stove and let it cool. Apply this solution to the hemorrhoids three times a day until they are gone.


4. Potatoes

Potatoes have a dehydrating effect and can help to reduce the swelling of hemorrhoids. This method is particularly good when there is bleeding involved. Simply shred and grind some potatoes into a paste and rub it directly on the affected area. Let the paste dry and you’ll immediately notice the effects.

On sitting toilets, users are forced to strain in order to move the bowels. The main cause of hemorrhoids is the straining that takes place. It explains why haemorrhoids is almost unheard of in populations who use traditional squatting toilets. Squatting on a stool can reduce the amount of straining on the toilet, which may mean less hemorrhoids,


6. Chamomile

Chamomile may not be good as a tea, but it’s an effective remedy for inflammation and helps in reducing the swelling of hemorrhoids while preventing damaging at the same time. Boil and blend a pot of camomile tea and let it cool, then soak a wash cloth in the tea and carefully wipe the hemorrhoids. Relief is predicted thereafter.


7. Tea tree oil

One thing that can help reduce the itch and swelling of inflamed hemorrhoids in a completely natural way is tea tree oil, as it is highly concentrated and is best to thin it with some castor oil or almond oil before using it. Make a mixture by applying two drops of tea tree oil with a very little of the other oils, then with a cotton swab apply it on your backside regularly to the affected area till the hemorrhoids are gone.


8. Vitamin E capsules

Hemorrhoids make the backside painful as the skin goes dry and causes itch and bleeding. One thing you will do sensible is by keeping the area moist and the perfect way to do it is by squeezing the vitamin E capsules right up against the anus. 9. Sitz baths

12. Epsom salts and glycerin

This is one thing available at home easily and works very well against painful hemorrhoids. Just make a mixture of 2 tbsp Epsom salt and 2 tbsp glycerin and apply it directly to the backside affected area and keep it for 15-20 mins. Carry on repeating this method every four to six hours until the pain vanishes.


13. Advice

The best prevention from hemorrhoids is to eat enough fiber (25 grams a day for women, 38 grams a day for men) and drink minimum eight glasses of water a day. This routine makes the stool easier to pass and keeps the backside problem from returning.
